Yum food

There are many different kinds of foods in the world and many different kinds of people. But have youever noticed expecially in utah that what kind of people are in are in the restraunts. I have, and when you are in a restraunt specilizing in mexican food such as los hermonos you hardly ever see latino people in there but in Asain restraunts like asain buffet becides the watresses their are families eating thereWhy is this? the firt thought that comes to my mind is that most latino food such as burritos is really easy to cook at home but food such as sushi is hard to make and its hard to find good fresh raw fish. Also i think that most mexican food places in utah don't really have good mexican food to those that have grown up in latin country or on that kind of cooking cause its not very ethentic to what you really get down there so yes that is why i think you see asain people in asain restraunts but you don't see latino people in latin restraunts.

The Rose

Today I recieved a rose and didn't even know it. One of my great friends Alex Curtis from Orem High School was the one that gave it to me. During fourth period he came over and tied it to the enta of my car. After school i just kinda got in and went to go to work and totally didn't notice it. So why is it that a rose represents things like love, beauty and a job well done? I have always noticed that in a play at opening and closeing night the leading man and lady will get one dozen roses as part of union rules but it also happens in non union theatres as well. Also people give roses to people to show affection like on birthdays and at other times when they want to show affection. according to wikipedia The ancient Greeks and Romans identified the rose with their goddesses of love (Aphrodite and Venus). so that is most likely the reason we still accociate it with love. One thing it mentions though is In Rome a wild rose would be placed on the door of a room where confidential matters were discussed. does this fact have anytihng do deal with why we still had out roses and the meaning of a rose? i really can't think of one off the top of my head. It does represent a job well done by the fact that they are handed out to those that have done an exelent job done this also was done at one time by the greeks after performances. To show how the rose represents beauty i will use the example of beauty and the beast. The beast protects the rose not only because it is controling his life by when the last pental falls he may die but also because the rose represents his beauty and how he used to be before he was turned into the beast. So that is all why i say that the rose represents love, beauty, and a job well done.

Techieness

Let me start off with the play les mis is a great play but it kinda really sucks. Why is a school play bothering me more than the millions of others that i do at once? With this show i am being required to only do this show which i do believe is causing me stress cause i am so used to working at least 3 shows at a time and having to worry about all of them and that they are going well and such. so i think that only working this one is making me focus on just this one thing and causing my brian to explode. ALso i believe its cause criaman is pushing us so hard to make it all perfect and help everyone with everything so we are there till like one getting it all done and its rediculous if everyone would have just put in there all from the begining those of us that have been there the whole time wouldn't still have to be bustin our asses so yeah its all retarted and crap. one other thing that i believe is causeing me more stress with this one is that kendall and i are still not talking and there for nothing is working out right and all and to add to that kendall is trying to prove a point to criman that he is better then criman and knows what he is doing. therefore he is not listening to anything that criman says just to prove a point and the things criman asks him for get dumped on me like getting/ making/ editing the 300 sound effects and such yes its good practice and all that but in the end kendall will get all the glory for it cause he is listed as sound designer. well in the end i believe that it is a bunch of things all mashed together and not having another show to focus on that is miking me more stressed out about this one then all the others that i have done for the past mollion years.

Cars

Whats the big deal with really nice expensive cars? Really a car is a car if it goes it's great the more people you can fit in side on the better cause the more fun you ahve with more friends. so then why is it that when ever a guy takes a girl out on a date they always try and take their dads new mustange to impress the girl. I mean its fun and all cause you can go really fast and it makes that great noise but really think if you had to drive that thing around every where and then when you ditched school it would be no fun cause you can literally fit two maybe three people in those things so its really no fun. So then why is it that everyone acts like they want a car like that. i think that its cause they are really expensive so by driving one they get to put off the impression that they are rich and have cool clasy things where really in my mind i am thinkin why didn't you just save you money by having an expensive car that is known for crashes and such i just think God you are really stupid. So why even bother getting small expensive cars they don't impress everyone. so really there is no big deal. personally i think the next new thing comming out will be cheese cars like this one inthe pic.

Best Friends

Why does alot of stress and a small conflict pull best friends apart? My best friend kendall and i have been friends for years. We work together hang out with each other we are both excepted into each others familys and no one would have ver thought that friends like us could actually have a real fight and not talk to each other for an extended period of time. Well it's les mis time comming about and nothing is working acording to plan we are in a major crunch and our teacher is kinda pushing all of us to the edge so that things will get done. Well a small conflict came up about having someone in the booth to call some of his cues during the show and because we are good friends i got put in charge of telling him that this was how it was going to be so just sit on your ass and deal with it even though i did not agree with it at all either well anyways youget the picture. so we kinda havn't been talking for a long time now and its hurting the show too cause we can't work with each other any more but yeah. i think that when we are all under alot of stress and are being pushed to the edge and really can't deal with it anymore and then get pushed even more is when you kinda just blow up at the first theing that comes in site doesn't matter what it is. But yes that is my reasoning for why friends get pulled apart sometimes over stupid things.

HatingPeople Can be Enjoyable

Tonight was the first night of SAST (Short Attention Span Theater) and i am the SM (Stage Manager) / production manager (ish ish) in short i was in charge of the whole thing 11 yes 11 different shows. just a note half of them never showed up for their rehersals. Well it went really really well only one show was messed up. But any ways. This one person on my crew who we shall call Tom just so they have a name. Well he is in not only the drama 4 class but also the tech class on my crew. So yes he knows all the shows but he did not know the tech cues. So he believes he is all high and mighty and doesn't need to come to rehersal cause he is just sound. HA HA HA . I say come to rehersal stupid head! I do believe that by the end of the show tonight i really am enjoying the fact that i hate him even though i shoudn't enjoy it but i do it's odd. But really is it possible to enjoy the fact that you hate some one? Right now i do believe it is possible because by hating him and leting him know that i feel that really relives me and all the stress of the production goes away. But yes i know that later i will regreat acting this way to him even though it relives my stress it will most likely just cause more stress later when he decides to act that way towards me. So in answer to my question, it is possible to enjoy hating someone but it will just come back and bite you in the ass sooner or later so for everyone who may read this just know that it is not always a good idea to tell people you hate that you hate them so you should learn from my mistake.

Drama Teens Lives

In drama 4 there term project thingy ish was to write a play and then they are being preformed by the drama 3 and 4 kids. I found out today that i am the SM (stage manager) yeah and they are in a week but i will be ok and handle it. But anyways i just finished reading the scripts of a few of them and most of the shows are based off personal experiences. Well more than 65% i guess ish are really depressing and are about death, drugs, depression, players, etc. It's depressing! and to top it all off one of the people you would never think would be in a situation like such has one of the most depression plays. Why do people hide their feeling? I do believe that one reason all people but expecially teens hide it is because they want to fit in with others and be happy with others. They act happy so people wont ask questions about what wrond and such. This is one reason i am very worried for most of my friends. Here where i am highly involved in drama and so are all my friends i know that they can act and hide it and are really good at it. So in answer to my question people hide feelings to fit in and to not stand out as the depressed kid who may just go kill them self tonight. But i guess it is just how the brain works.

Pictures

Can a picture really say a million things? Take this picture for instance. When we took this picture i was angry and just wanted the whole world to be shot in the head so i could watch it bleed to death. Is that what this picture says? Most people that have looked at it think that i am really happy and my boyfriend is the who i am looking at. In reality it is quite the opposite i was looking into space trying not to look at casey who really was making me angry and depressed. Also does me, who always has my hair in a pony tail, having my hair down have a sexual meaning? At least to me it does not it means to me that my hair tie broke cause of casey. In the end though i do believe that pictures can tell a million words they may not always be the words or thoughts of the person in the picture telling the "story" but they do tell stories.

Cheating

Why do people cheat? Some people are so obcessed with winning they will do anything to win including cheating. Sorry to say but yes i was apart of this act of "cheating" but really could it be called cheating? This last few days we were at shakespeare competition in cedar city, Utah. It was really fun, full of drama, but hey we are drama people at a drama competition. Well anyways, in the tech olympics every team was cheating. This year they did not have it garded or anything you could just walk on in it was cool. so i don't really know if i actually cheated or not but that is kinda becides the point. The one thing that i decided really bugs me about cheating is when you cheat with a full out plan just so you can win. Mountain view high school Utah has won four years in a row and this year would have been our fifth except that mountain view mesa half ass cheated and won. the tech olympics is all about the fastest time you can do your event. There are six events: Audio, Rigging, Costumes, Props, Construction, and Lights. Mountian view mesa in every event tried their hardest to get as much done in 30 sec and and then call time and just take all the penealty times. Whith this they won. they really didn't even try that hard to win if you think about it but yet they did it kinda really makes me angry. It was not full out cheating but close enough. it was "half ass cheating". Does a trophy really mean that much? But still i think that they cheated just so that they could steal our golden makita trophy and that it was really the only way that they could have won it cause they suck! people cheat so that they can believe that they are better then someone else or another group of people and then rub it in their faces. I still must say a silver spot light is really cute and adds to our colection and we did a kick ass job! well done every body!I Love you all our team rocked all the socks off all the people!

Superman the Musical

Why is it when some shows end it's a happy ending and others it's a sad one? For example Superman the musical. I can't wait for it to be over. It's not that i hate the people in the cast or crew or that we don't have fun i just want it over. Where like other shows such as peter pan this summer was really fun and i didn't want it to end. I think that the reason that some shows just need to end is because there is never anything intresting that happens in the show and it has no real meaning anymore to you becides that you get money. Where there are other shows that yes you get money for working them but it's also fun and you have more then one job to do for the show or the the one job you have is chellenging. That is why i believe some shows don't want to end and others just need to be finished and over with.

I like Mic Problems

When there is a mic problem why is it that when i am back stage i sorta enjoy it but when i am the board opp. i hate hate hate hate it? Ever since we enven started rehersals for superman the musical with me being the board opp and kendall (my "half brother form another mother") being back stage i have just wanted to switch back to haow it used to be. For the past two years it has always been kendall on board and me as his assistant. When being the assistant you get that chance to be backstage, do mic changes, set changes, fix mic problems, hang out with the actors, and do homework stuff. Where as when you are running the board that is what you do and that is it nothing more or less you just sit there supermansthis big chair turning mics on and off and making it sound good and all that and telling others to go run around and fix things. I think the reason that i hate it when a mic breaks during the show where i am the board opp there really is nothing i can do to fix it i just have to hope it gets fixed. Where when i am the sound asst. i am the one in control making sure that it gets fixed and how long it takes and such. I like to be the one in control and getting to run around and have fun multi-tasking and such.

Competition is it worth it?

Why do schools have to be so competive? Why does everyone care about winning? How does something that you would think would not be a sport like competition become one just so people can say they are the best and #1? Why must we win tech olympics again and again and again. How did tech turn into a sport but not get the pe credit? For me I love tech it is my life, my dream, my goal but really what will it do for me? This is my first year not actually being a important part of the team. I am only a jr. yes but even in jr.high orem high came and asked me to be on the team and i was team captain of orem highs team last year but now here at mountain view i am only the alternate? He tells me i must be better then everyone on the team at there events but i am the smallest one and have to learn every event and be just as good or better. They are all specialests and get to only work on that event. is it really worth it to be to fall behind and stress out lose sleep and get sick just to make criman happy? Well anyways from this i know i am getting lots of good experience and confidence but i am kinda scared what is going to happen when we are down there. i guess the answer to my questions is that with out having something to get out of it like a trophy or experience what are we all really going to learn from it. High school is about meeting new people, discovering your self, learning, and kicking the other teams butt just cause you know you can!

Can Fun and Work Be the Same Thing?

Is it even possible for work to be something you enjoy doing not a chore? I enjoy very much going to work, I know it's odd but i really do. While i am at work i get to learn things that not only help me get ready for my career, but i also learn things that help me emotionally, mentally, and physically. By lifting heavy objects i build my muscle strength, and by interacting with many different kinds of people i learn how to control how i act around those i can stand and those i can not. I have noticed that many of my friends will do anything to get out of work and they really dred going and wish to leave as soon as possible. Why is this? Why do people always pick a job they know they will not enjoy. Why not from the start try to get a good job doing something that you will enjoy and that will actually help you in the future. how is flippin burgers at a burger joint going to help you better your self and get you prepared for life in the future when you are in control of your self. I really do believe that fun and work can be the same thing if you make the right choices on where you want to work, if you try hard to get a job there, ifyou always have a good attitude while your there, you work hard, and make it a fun joyfull experience. Get some of your friends to work there with you and if thats not an option make friends with the people there hang out with some of them out side of work. From watching my job experience and others i have come to this conclusion. even if you are just flippin burgers you still can make it fun every thing in life should be fun!
